Alec Ounsworth (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah)
Alec's voice over his Wurlitzer was a river of smooth beauty. He makes the kind of music that reminds you why you wanted to ever pick up a guitar and write a song. Thank You Monday.
Jared Mees + The Grown Children Photo Shoot
On a deep grey afternoon I met up with Jared and his Grown people for a quick photo shoot at the Creston Pool in SEP. Everyone had a hella of a day (we were throwing a birthday party for Nick Johnson that night where Strength was playing at) and Jared's drummer had spent the night before in jail. We were haggard and I randomly, in a state of no mental clarity purchased a grip of american apparel pants for the GC. Sheeeesh.
It was super refreshing to shoot with available light and to not be trapped inside a venue. I'm excited for another round with these guys when we have more time to plan and shoot!!! More images to come as well as the full band montage which should be pretty damned hot! Thanks DHockney!!!

images from my on-going photo project, exotic terrane were featured in the High Desert Journal! the journal is dedicated to publishing literary and visual art made about the interior West. this is my first time being published and i feel so lucky to share these pages with so many wonderful artists, writers and poets.

this is where we slay the dragons
here's a little montage from Jim's shoot for Giro last month (these is our studayO). we got to photograph their pro riders - it was tight. i work for jim on a pretty regular basis. this year he's pretty much the sole reason that i can exist as an artist and photographer in this town. he plugs me in and gives me hella learning opportunities and networking. thanks for believing in the dream CHEEEEM!

Blue Horns + At Old Standard Studio
stopped in at Old Standard last weekend. An amazing house rigged for two stories of digital - analog lust fire recordings. the Blue Horns are recording for an up-coming EP they should be releasing in the next few weeks.

this is the show that got me into shooting bands. without these dudes i'd be a weird voyeur or something.
A Dreamy Week
over christmas a few years ago i went home singing these lyrics about being stoned on a desert to my sister, Leah - who is 35 now and has a bit of history with bands in the Northwest. she fronted DOW JONES in the 90s - which besides chamber music and my step dad's YANNI records was the only music i had heard at the time. i remember a show they played under the burnside bridge when i was about 8 - there were lesbians everywhere - they fawned over my sister - there was also a lanky naked man dancing eruptive behind the band. i was totally sold.
